Cookie Policy
This page explains what cookies BeStock uses and why. It’s a companion to the Privacy Policy, not a replacement for it.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. It can be read back on later visits to remember something about that visit, that you’re logged in, that you already saw a banner, or just an anonymous count of how many times a page has been viewed.
What BeStock actually sets
Two categories, and nothing beyond them:
Analytics (Google Analytics)
BeStock uses Google Analytics to see, in aggregate, which articles and tools get read and used, not to identify you personally. This sets cookies typically named _ga, _ga_*, and _gid, each lasting from a day up to about two years depending on the cookie. Google’s own handling of that data is covered by Google’s privacy policy, not this one.
Essential / security
The infrastructure that serves this site and protects it from abuse (bot traffic, denial-of-service attempts) may set a small number of strictly technical cookies to do that job. These aren’t used to build a profile of you and don’t survive a normal browsing session in any meaningful way.
What BeStock doesn’t do
No advertising or retargeting cookies, no cross-site tracking pixels, no cookie is sold or shared with a data broker. The Markets tools (quotes, financials, screener, comparisons) don’t require an account and don’t set any cookie of their own.
Third-party content
If an article embeds something from outside BeStock (a broker’s own widget, a video, a linked chart) that third party may set its own cookies under its own policy once you interact with it. That’s between you and them.
Turning cookies off
Every modern browser lets you block or delete cookies in its settings, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics specifically. Blocking cookies won’t break anything on BeStock: articles and the Markets tools both work the same either way.
